Citec Keynote speech UITP MENA Public Transport for Large Events

Doha is a 430’000 inhabitant city and a close-to 1 million metropolitan area.  Its strong development and visibility worldwide are also strongly due to the National “Sport” Strategy of Qatar.

With next worldwide events such as the Universal Expo 2020 in Dubai and FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, this area is promoting events of big visibility.

The MENA UITP Congress, held November 25th to 27th in Doha, was the opportunity to identify the challenges and opportunities for public transport in the organisation of such big events.

Citec was happy to be able to contribute through its wide experience to the Opening Ceremony of the « 2^ND UITP MENA Public Transport for Large Events & Showcase », where Franco Tufo, Director General of Citec, had the key speech about “Organize a large event in Qatar: Transports Challenges and Opportunities“, in front of His Excellence Jassem Bin Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Qatar Transport Minister.
