The verdict is in: Switzerland will be the next host country for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 football tournament. The decision was announced yesterday by the UEFA executive committee in Lisbon, choosing Switzerland over France, Poland, and a group of four Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden). The competition will take place in the summer of 2025, across eight cities in Switzerland: Geneva, Sion, Basel, Berne, Zurich, Saint-Gall, Lucerne, and Thoune. It will be one of the largest sporting events ever held in Switzerland.

Citec, which has supported numerous major event bids (such as the 2026 World Cup, Paris 2024/Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, etc.), is delighted with this new success. “In addition to being a major event for our country, it’s above all an enormous opportunity to promote women’s football on a large scale. In fact, the Swiss Football Association (ASF) had tasked our experts in Large Events to lead and execute the mobility component of Switzerland’s bid for EURO 2025.
