NEWARK — Citec will speak at the « Public Transit and Major Events » theme day to be held in New Jersey on June 17, 2024. The day consists of several workshops focusing on best practices in managing public transport for large events.
UITP (International Association of Public Transport) is a worldwide network that supports sustainable urban mobility. With more than 135 years of history, it brings together all stakeholders in public transport and all modes of sustainable transport to improve quality of life and economic well-being by supporting and promoting sustainable transport worldwide. The UITP organizes on 17th June 2024 in the United States, host country of the next FIFA World Cup, the Summer Olympic Games in 2028 and Winter Olympic Games in 2034, and the Ryder Cup in 2025 and 2029, a thematic day around major events, in particular international sports competitions. Infrastructure development, transport improvement, impact on local economy, environmental impacts, safety: the association organizes workshops to discuss best practices in managing and planning major public transport events.
Citec shares its expertise and talks about Paris 2024
Stefano Manelli, Citec Large Events Manager, will present Citec’s experience in managing major events. In particular, he will discuss the model put in place for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. Stefano Manelli has been active for more than 20 years in planning and transport operations for major events, and has acted as an expert on some 30 major international events. He was appointed Transport Expert by the Bidding Committee for Paris 2024, to pilot and develop the mobility concept, coordinating local public partners and authorities. Since 2018 he has been the director of the transport technical assistance mission of Citec to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee.
