Citec speaker at UITP large events workshop

NEWARK — Citec will speak at the « Public Transit and Major Events » workshop to be held in New Jersey on October 21 and 22, 2024. The workshop consists of several sessions over two days, focusing on best practices in managing public transport for large events.

UITP (International Association of Public Transport) is a worldwide network that supports sustainable urban mobility. With more than 135 years of history, it brings together all stakeholders in public transport and all modes of sustainable transport to improve quality of life and economic well-being by supporting and promoting sustainable transport worldwide. The UITP organizes on 21st and 22nd of october in the United States, host country of the next FIFA World Cup, the Summer Olympic Games in 2028 and Winter Olympic Games in 2034, and the Ryder Cup in 2025 and 2029, a workshop around major events, in line with the thematic day organised in June of this year. Infrastructure development, transport improvement, impact on local economy, environmental impacts, safety: the association organizes workshops to discuss best practices in managing and planning major public transport events.

Citec shares its expertise on a successful mobility

Stefano Manelli, Director Citec Italy and Citec Large events manager, will present Citec’s experience in managing major events during two highlights: the session « Delivering successful large events » and the workshop « Strategies for a Unified Mobility Experience ». He will discuss the model put in place for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, aux côtés de Laurence Debrincat, Directrice Prospective & Études Île-de-France Mobilités. Stefano Manelli has been active for more than 20 years in planning and transport operations for major events, and has acted as an expert on some 30 major international events. He was appointed Transport Expert by the Bidding Committee for Paris 2024, to pilot and develop the mobility concept, and director of the transport technical assistance mission to Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee. He was also appointed in 2020 Transport Manager for the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina 2026.
